The 16-strong partnership, known as GoTrade will receive the money from the European Regional Development Fund to enhance markets in the borough and across southern England and northern France over the next three years.
The aim of GoTrade, which stands for Growth of the Visitor Economy through Traditional Markets, Employment and Skills, is to increase visitor numbers by improving the experience of traditional street markets, to try to lure customers back from the internet.
