The event was hosted by Basildon Council, together with Essex Chambers of Commerce.

Announced as the first-ever business-to-business event to be held in the town, it attracted around 40 local firms from in and around Basildon, as well as experts advising on starting new businesses, and on development and growth.

The exhibition was followed by an ‘economic tea debate’, where a panel of infrastructure partners and council representatives gave keynote speeches, including Councillor Linda Allport-Hodge of the infrastructure, growth and development department at Basildon Council.

Allport-Hodge said: "The expo was a fantastic way for us to help businesses grow and showcase why the borough is such a great place to work.

"The venue was packed with visitors throughout the day and attendees were able to access a wide range of available support and secure new business, make new connections or build on their existing business relationships."
