Innovation warehouse planned

Plans are being considered for a start-up development and co-working space in Basildon, BaSE has learnt.

The Thames Estuary Innovation Warehouse could be built at the council-owned Green Centre in Wat Tyler Country Park, off the A13 and M25, close to Pitsea station.

It would provide 1,055sq m of collaborative workspace, “maker-space" and business support facilities to help entrepreneurs develop their ideas. It could initially host 207 businesses.

BaSE understands that Basildon Council is in discussion with a number of businesses which could be involved in the centre, providing services, sponsorship and technical support. They include Barclays’s Eagle Lab initiative, the programme offering support to digital innovators.
