Initiative to boost employment

Jobseekers will benefit from a new digital corner due to be created at a pop-up skills and employment advice shop in Basildon thanks to a 10,000 grant.

The funding received from the Essex Employment and Skills Board in March will be used to create two digital kiosks at The Advice Store, located in the old Party Fiesta shop near Basildon Market.

The digital corner will help visitors to complete referral forms and search for job vacancies at the pop-up shop that was created in December last year.

The funding will also help create a confidential health and wellbeing area for one-to-one support and career counselling.

More than 20 organisations offers skills, training and career advice at the pop-up shop including the National Careers Service, Signpost, ITEC and Essex County Council.
